I stayed here last night and the first room they gave me and my kids was dirty and refrigerator didn't work. At first they didn't want to change the room.front desk lady is rude and unprofessional, I don't know how people choose to stay here. I'm never staying here again.
Every time we left our room for more than a few hoursour, our room key reset and wouldn't unlock our door. The first time it happened, we went to the front desk and before even saying anything, the clerk said, "room key not working?" like it's apparently a common occurrence... But she was always very nice and able to help us out.
Hotel was reasonable, clean, but night staff not so helpful as I had become accustomed to at other Econolodges. The room was large and comfortable. The beds are always good to snooze in and the breakfast is excellent.
Construction on the building went on until almost 9pm on Friday night which was annoying, but wasn't the biggest issue since we didn't bring our kids this trip.
Next time I vacation in DC I'll be sure to do my research beforehand. With it being my birthday weekend, I didn't want to have to waste time and money trying to relocate to another hotel. I just wanted to get out of there and feel like I wasted the $292 I spent.
For starters, the first room we got reaked of marijuana. We went to reception and requested a non smoking room and were quickly accomidated. So they have that going for them...
The second room did not smell at all like the first one but we were greeted with a soaked bathroom floor from a slow leak coming from the toilet tank. Annoying, but tolerable.
very bad area...
Our mini fridge didn't work and took us a day and a half to realize that it was not level. Once we put something under one of the corners to level it out, it started trying to work but never got cold. Frustrating because I had ordered a salad to eat the next day for lunch that was ruined because I couldn't keep it cold. There also were only 2 usable outlets in the whole room.
Rooms less than $100 they are clean got a mini fridge. A simple continental breakfast. Microwave available in breakfast area. And a 24 hour IHOP is right here sharing the hotels parking lot
The batteries were taken out of the smoke detector which was concerning that those aren't checked regularly. How do I know they weren't in there? Oh, because the cover was off exposing the empty battery terminals! They were probably taken out by a former guest to use them in the remote control.
This leads me to the point that our in room phone didn't work so we had to call the front desk from our cells. The cable also didn't work as well.
They charge like super 8 expensive never come back again...
Stay with the friend's but this motel is not good every people talking attitude and
The vending room had 2 beverage machines and an ice machine. I'm convinced that people were pissing into bottom of the ice catch because the whole place smelled like old urine and urinal cakes. Just going in there to get a bucket of ice was nauseating. I wasn't in there long enough to even begin to tell you what kind of drinks they had or if the thing even worked.
There were 4 pillows that were so badly worn out that they had folded the end where the batting was missing into the pillow case to "create" a pillow that measured about ten inches by ten inches. We found a place nearby that sold pillows and ended up purchasing a few for our comfort. Mind you, this was after my husband called the reception desk from his cell phone to request some more pillows, and was told there were no extras to be shared.
